Life is not a single story. The more people you come across and get to know the richer your world becomes. Vlad had the unique chance to know many and different characters all over the world. He has an inborn aptitude to feel people’s dreams and fears and a variety of professional profiles. Starting as a junior judge, then journalist in the National radio, editor, news reader and anchor man he hosted as well a late night program. People were expecting him to chase their solitude and he was successful in it. Then as a lawyer, he advised on solving entangled problems, staging business ventures. Reading his book one can appreciate Vlad’s story teller’s skill and his noticeable understanding of human nature. As life is not one story I am eager to read some more of them, signed by Vladimir Stamboliev.

Vlad can always take you by surprise; often amazing us with his wide spectrum of not just artistic manifestations – resembling the many faced Janus. That’s how it was back in time when there was only one Bulgarian National Radio in our fatherland. Those years Vlad was frantically followed by an audience of hundreds of thousands. His night shows were something anticipated and appreciated. This continued for years. In the dark hours of the night, when the ghostly creatures of human fears and fantasies usually came to life, Vlad led the audience through the devil’s curves with his restless, vibrating journalistic flair and inborn talent for story-telling. A hypnotizing, soothing voice was his gift to fens, leading them through the complicated times in which we lived then. As a lawyer he helped me bring to life some of my successful movies: “After the end of the world”; “Journey to Jerusalem” and “Bulgarian Rhapsody”, handling the complex legal structure of the international co productions. With his empathy and erudition he helped bring onboard my cinematographic career names as Menahem Golan, Armand Asante and Udo Kier. The latest surprise from Vlad came with the stories narrated in this book. Some of them I believe could be made into thrilling scripts for movie pictures. Don’t stop surprising Vlad!
